Treble section of a 1895 Bluthner that I am restringing. New bearing cloth (red) new wrest pins and of course strings. With this old (but in very good structural order) piano I have had to make ‘loops’ for each string! Nowadays only ‘Bass’ strings have loops made and ‘steels’ are fitted by using one piece of string to go from wrest pin (black) down over the bridge, round the hinch pin and back up through again, into the wrest pin. Much faster!!
